Six Yards of Linen

As it’s Diwali season, we had an exhibition here in Dubai on the 6th of October. There was a huge display of ethnic wear, accessories, homemade items, decor items, paintings, and much more! It was a 12 hour event and I can say, I splurged! I came back home with heavy bags in my hand which mainly consisted of sarees!

The saree I am wearing here is one of the few steals from exhibition.

I’m wearing an 80 count linen saree with a bluish grey thread interwoven pallu. This piece has warm tones of maroon, orange and green. As evident as it is, I am not expert at draping a saree but this that you see is mine and Philip’s effort to drape it as elegantly as we could. ;D

I don’t think I would have ever thought a linen saree would be comfortable but after giving it a shot, I proved myself wrong. Regardless of my clumsiness, the saree kept its shape and stayed in place beautifully. I really liked the flow and feel of the saree. Also, how cute are the pompoms on the pallu?

It’s not easy to find time to go to a tailor and get a blouse stitched when you have a busy schedule, which is why I just paired it up with a black full-sleeved crop top.

Snetha here and welcome to our blog! By day I am a signage contractor working in the hot hot sun, suited up in safety gear, helmet, boots, vest. But by night, and the weekends, I explore Dubai and create content for you guys! I was a tomboy till a certain age and then surprisingly, thanks to my big brother, I turned over a new leaf. Funny right? Now all I think about is clothes and how I can come up with new patterns, designs and how to style them up! Enough about me now and enjoy what we've put out there for you. <3
